To be honest, the photo shown here is not the last one taken in the month of July. Allow me to explain.
Over at Monday Window I have kept up a long running challenge. There are 266 posts there and with age and health issues it gets harder to come up with a new window photo each week. There are several places that are good candidates that I just haven’t gotten too. One of those is the delightful “My Secret Garden – Gift & Garden Boutique”. We drive by it several times a week and stop in on rare occasions, but somehow, I never added a photo to my collection.
There have been several “sub-challenges” in the Monday Window exchange started by bushboy. One was awnings. I caught the bug and started a collection of windows with awnings. Then he started posting dormers. Challenges are catching. They inspire looking for particular items in our environment, seeing our world with new appreciation. They are fun.
Yesterday, Monday, I had seen the latest responses on my Monday Window blog and had dormers on my mind. As we were going for lunch, I remembered that there were dormers on the charming building at the nursery we were about to pass. It was a quick decision to pull in and grab a photo.
As I was finding the best location, a friendly young man approached to ask how he could help. I could see that he had a questioning look seeing me aiming my iPhone at the building. I said, “I’m going to make you famous”. An eyebrow lifted. I added, “in a good way, of course”. He smiled and said, “let me move the cart out of the way”.
I took the photo you see here. Then used the telephoto camera in the iPhone for a couple of closer pictures. With the cart removed I took another photo. That turned out to be the last one of the month of July 2023.
I was reminded of the “Last of Month” challenge by Deb when I saw her post this morning. But I had already decided that my photo would be for the next Monday Window post. I lamented my situation in a comment to her post. She helped me out by suggesting, “I think it would be alright to use it again with a little bit of information about it. Otherwise use your closest to last photo. Maybe use it a second time with a little editing.”
Isn’t it nice to have friends? The predicament was solved.
Here is the first photo from My Secret Garden. See the others in my Monday Window post for August 7, 2023.

I think Brian’s not too much of a stickler for the bald truth. A photo with a story is much more fun, as you have here.
That is a fabulous building with dormers Ludwig. I happy to have done a little bit of inspiring and glad it was also your last photo for July Ludwig. Thanks for joining in 🙂 🙂
