By our Pond

It has been a long time since I visited this pond in our neighborhood. It has changes mightily in the past few years. The growth has become much thicker, and one can hardly see the water.

As one might expect there is plenty of wildlife too.

If you look closely, you can spot the turtle on that log.

Much easier to spot were these guys. Good friends of mine. We had not met for quite some time and they invited me to come see and photograph something neat.

What is the subject?

There it is! Do you see it? No? Alright, come take a look at the Green Heron Chicks.

  1. Those are some cool lenses you all have. A couple of mine would fit in. But I bet those zoom capabilities are better than mine 😀

    1. Thanks Cee. Unfortunately, mine is the runt. It is a zoom that only goes to 300 mm. not really up to this task. My photos are severe crops.

  2. Your friends have some seriously long lenses, Ludwig, and don’t feel left out with only a 300mm telephoto as theser days, I don’t even have a camera with that focal length. Photos of wildlife are not anything I could capture currently, but years ago, I did have a 300mm myself.

    1. Thanks, Beatrice. We all have our special interests. And acquire the gear that fits our style. Photographing birds takes a special kind – not me.
